I suppose that going forward, I'll have to use some other than Kodak Gallery to post my pictures. On thing I DO like about the Kodak site is the quality of their prints.

You're very welcome. I don't have the B (Msa. Finnell) home yet. The check has cleared and we are set, but hubby is out flying somewhere in Florida, so the owner is letting us wait to pick it up.
If we were closer, we would be happy to come help you. I'd love to be able to see it.

Have you checked the Prestige Plating shop yet? They are dragging feet in sending me the antiqued sample - it supposedly was Fed Exed Thurs or Fri but not here yet.
Is what Gigi does a truly baked on porcelain finish or is it an epoxy or powder coating?? I was really excited about this, but the husband is quite doubtful of this process. Can someone fill me in so I can get my pans and burners redone too?! Thanks!

Phoebe, I haven't checked with them yet. I'm actually pleased with how Miss Penny is looking when we remove the tarnish. She is not real bright but has a richer color. We'll see. Let me know when you receive the sample. I'd love to know what you think.
Fatfutures, thanks so much for the offer. It's actually easy for us when we get everything together. We have a horse trailer with a ramp and a big furniture dolly. We strap it in very carefully with moving blankets, and everything moves easily. We should be there the weekend of the 25th. We are also have a board meeting that weekend for the Icelandic Horse Conference, so it should work out well. If you will be in town, let me know and maybe we can all get together.

GiGi's provides a true porcelain finish. First the fire all the pieces to remove all gunk, sand blast em and then apply the porcelain, which is fired on.
The work is gorgeous! It's so nice to see these 50+ year old pieces looking like new! Also, her prices are extremely reasonable. $20 each for the burners, pans and grates. $45 for the oven floor. Mine is very pitted and unfortunately you cannot grind these down to a smooth surface. Apparently, the more you grind the more "bubbles" are exposed, making bigger pits. That said, it still looks pretty awesome after Gigi's attention.

Back in Gigi's place yesterday..she is a real hoot ! I sent her greetings from the Chambers folks and she said "oh Michelle.....michelle...oh ! Dallas ! I LOVE michelle ! and Mark lowracer, she said"oh, Gessner !" she knows all our last names ! i swaped out nine pieces, in the old out with the new,, just beautiful stuff. there are two new stove stores in LA, one in Eagle Rock, Eagle Rock Appliances and the other is Vintage Stoves on Western. The old standy, Stove Heaven is swamped with stoves in repair and stoves ready to go. The LA market is huge and getting bigger. Gigi is sending work out to Canada and all areas of the US. I still think we are her favorites ! Gigi's lil business has paid for her LA property investments, her brand new Lexus, her brand new truck, three kids through college, her house and she said "I did very very well !" a lil bit of porcelain goes a long way, it seems...
